The California Council on Teacher Education holds annual elections each March. In even numbered years a President Elect and three members of the Board of Directors are elected, while in odd years three other Board of Directors members are elected. In addition, every third year Vice Presidents for AACTE and ATE are elected. Thus, the 2026 election involves the President Elect, the two Vice Presidents, and three Board members.
The Nominations and Elections Committee has recruited candidates for the various offices and an initial election announcement has just been emailed to all CCTE members and delegates. A second announcement along with a link to the on-line ballot will be emailed to members and delegates again in early February and the deadline for voting will be noon on March 24 with the results announced at the closing session of the SPAN Conference that afternoon. Those who are elected will take office immediately that day.
If you are either a CCTE individual member or institutional delegate, and thus eligible to vote in the election, you will have received the initial email announcement with information on the nominated candidates.
