Launch of the CCTE JEDI Awards

We are excited to announce the launch of the CCTE JEDI Awards, a new set of recognitions designed to honor individuals and groups whose work exemplifies a deep commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in teacher education. These awards uplift the transformative efforts of faculty, administrators, pre- and in-service teachers, and students who are leading the way toward more equitable and inclusive educational practices.

There are three award categories:

  • Award for Critical Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activities in Teacher Education
  • Award for Transformative Community-Grounded Work in Teacher Education
  • Award for Critical Leadership in Teacher Education

Awardees will be announced at the 2026 SPAN Conference in the spring and honored at the CCTE Fall 2026 Conference, where they will present their work to the community.

Nominations are due by December 15, 2025, and self-nominations are encouraged. Full details, including award descriptions, eligibility, and nomination guidelines, are included in the attached call.  We encourage you to nominate a colleague, a student, or yourself to help us celebrate those working courageously for justice in our field.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Dr. Daniel Soodjinda, chair of the CCTE JEDI Committee.

With appreciation,

The CCTE JEDI Awards Committee
