We are excited to announce that the Great Schools Partnership has selected Diversifying the Educator Pipeline: Supporting Black Educators through Recruitment, Preparation, and Retention by Dr. Shaylyn Marks (California State University Bakersfield) as it’s April virtual book club selection. Diversifying the Educator Pipeline addresses the critical need for diversifying the teacher workforce while also addressing the systemic barriers that Black educators and students face in educational spaces. Dr. Marks laces her own personal experiences as it intersects with research in the field to provide a dynamic depiction of the Black educator and student experience. This timely book is a must read as it captures the urgent need for culturally responsiveness in educational spaces.
